about

Greetings dear listeners and welcome back to the world of puncti. It's been a while, and I've missed you.
February, with its misplaced r, is behind us. We got to leap this year!
For this instalment, I had the absolute pleasure of collaborating with Matt Hew. He is an extraordinary man, and an extremely talented multi-instrumentalist who has no trouble working under pressure.
For All Ways Moving On, Matt goes to town on the arpeggio on his Wurlitzer organ, and then added some nice midi drums with his sample pad. The drums have a certain swagger, like a confident jaunt. I croon about a woman - or maybe a robot - who leaves a trail of broken hearts behind her behind. I appreciate how bouncy the organ is on this track.
AI Aneurysm is a busy hydroponic orchid in bloom. Runing through a synth pedal, the layers of Matt's bass play off each other, like lasers in a bank vault. This is a great track to rob a bank to.
Smoke Swims in the Wind is a great example of how good Matt is at making his bass sound like other instruments. Triple layered bass masquerades as guitar and works off the dramatic, airy drums to inspire grandeur and darkness, like wandering a medieval castle.
Our fourth track is ripe and ready to be the resolution music in a coming of age film, show, or game. Matt laid down all the keys on his Wurlitzer, midi drums on the electric drum set, and then I added some light Theremin. For me this track invokes twin peaks. This Melody is One of the Many Reasons I Love You is satisfying, inspiring, comforting, AND soothing. Try it today with your favourite beverage.
Ground Fruit, our final track, is a punk song about a vegetable. Hint: Later, you might look down and get scared.
Also, I think they look like knees.
Can you guess what vegetable?

Featuring the talented, funny, and wonderfully clever Matthew Hancock
