HAPPY 2021 EVERYONE!! I am pleased to present the final puncti album of 2020, Unbusy ft. Skin Tone. Unbusy is a real word, isn't that hilarious?
So this year has sucked for like the entire world, and with the new year brings new hope for our future. While making this album with the polymath James Goddard, aka Skin Tone, I went into a hypnotic trance - I don't think we looked at each other for like half an hour because we were so in the zone. While I was zonking on out the theremini, James combined several pedals (including some doubles) for vocal processing, giving us that beautiful ohm-like tone that underlies three of our four tracks. He also mic'd an African xylophone with lil metal reverb tubes built into it, and an Mbira (the OG, pre-colonial calimba), giving us those lovely echoes of plucked melody and resonant xylophone hits.
I got extra into production for "Provincial Measures" - when you close your eyes and listen, do you also see a Jetsons-like speedway?
Our journey ends with "Alcubierre Warp Drive" which is A REAL THEORY ABOUT TRAVELLING FASTER THAN LIGHT AND THEREFORE THROUGH TIME holy crap quantum physics is SO FUCKING COOL!!! Here's the wiki: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcubierre_drive
